Terry Brown

Lifetime TLBAA member, Terry Brown, 53, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 in a vehicle accident near his ranch in Rosebud, TX.

Services were held Wednesday, July 2, at the 3 Horses Ranch near Rosebud, TX. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 1, at the Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.

Terry Brown was born August 10, 1954 in Bossier City, LA to Walter and Rosie Burdick Brown. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Architecture, and the same year married Jean Kimball on April 2. In 1979, he earned his Masters of Architecture degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and worked for Robert A.M. Stem in New York and Venturi Rauch and Scott Brown in Philadelphia. A Fullbright Scholar in Vienna, Austria, he was recognized in the (40 under 40) and published various architectural publications. Later he taught at Miami University in Oxford, OH, University of Cincinnati, and Baylor University.

Terry began raising Longhorns in 1998 and moved to Rosebud in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Jean Brown, Rosebud, TX; his parents, Walter and Rose Brown, Sioux City, IA; and two brothers, Scott Brown, Seymour, IN; and Gary Brown, Houston, TX. Brown was preceded in death by his uncle, Frank Doherty, Doherty Longhorn Ranch, who was also a TLBAA member.
