Weekly Hay Report from the Texas Department of Agriculture
Compared to last week: Supply remains tight and growers are finishing up the remainder of their cutting and baling. Trade and demand are moderate with a firm undertone noted. The need for hay is so great that some have to settle for lesser quality to get the quantity needed. Feedlots are now starting to rely more on silage to feed. The State of Texas Department of Agriculture has the Hay and Grazing Hot Line set up for buyers and sellers, number is 1-877-429-1998. The web site for TDA is www.agr.state.tx.us. For a hay report from a state other than Texas please click here.
