Global Warming Report Blames Livestock

A 407 page report titled, “Livestock’s Long Shadow” has recently and quietly been published by the United Nation Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) says that livestock production accounts for as much as 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions and casts a “long shadow” over the Earth’s “biodiversity”. This report about the impact of Livestock Agriculture says that in addition to generating more greenhouse gasses than the transportation industry, the livestock industry also has assisted in degrading land due to overgrazing and water pollution. Read a brief synopsis on the FAO Web site here. Read more about this story on Farm Futures.com. Read more about this on the Des Moines Register’s Web site.
