Russian Cattle Thief Takes the Bus With the Stolen Cattle

From Metro News – United Kingdom

Another late entry for 2006's Greatest Criminal Mastermind comes from near the historic port city of Kaliningrad in Russia, where a cattle thief attempted to make a getaway with his stolen cows… by catching a bus.

Yes, with the cows.

Sadly for all fans of terrible planning, the man was caught by police as he and his cows trundled away from the crime scene in the bus.

It is not known what first alerted the authorities to the presence of cows on the bus.

Authorities say that the man, who has not been identified, was one of two men who carried out the cattle rustling. The other man is also suspected, along with his accomplice, of stealing a car.

The man reportedly told police when he was arrested that he had chosen to escape by bus because he thought the police would not search a bus for cows.
