Bill Introduced in U.S. Legislature to Exempt Manure from Superfund Statutes

A bipartisian effort to exempt manure from the U.S. Superfund Statues is underway in both houses of the U.S. Legislature. Bills introduced Thursday, March 29, 2007, in both houses of Congress, carry language that would exempt manure from the list of hazardous wastes in the Superfund Statues.

The Superfund Statue or Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) was created in the late 70s and early 80s, in response to the dumping of toxic waste in various instances across the United States.
