Johanns to Leave USDA; Conner Named as Successor

September 20, 2007 – U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns resigned his Cabinet post today to seek a Senate seat from Nebraska. President George W. Bush named Johanns's top deputy, Chuck Conner, as his acting replacement. Read the rest of the story at Bloomberg.com.

Special Ranger , Sheriff's Department Recover $70,000 Worth of Stolen Property

September 20, 2007 – Working together, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the Tulsa County (Oklahoma) Sheriff’s Office have recovered $70,000 worth of stolen property in a joint investigation in the Tulsa County area.
      This is the second theft ring the special rangers have investigated this summer, with the first resulting in recovering $19,000 worth of saddles. Read the full story on the TSCRA Web site.
