Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge 64th Annual Sale
September 20, 2007
Cache, OK Report and Photos by Carolyn Hunter
The longest running Longhorn Sale in the world chalked up another good one this time with bleachers full of new and long-time breeders, including TLBAA member and former U.S. Army Gen. Tommy Franks, Roosevelt, OK, as well as on-lookers and tourists.

New breeders Jenny Young, Leakey, TX, volume buyer, and William Eggleston, Rosharon, TX. |
The stands were perhaps just a little bit quieter this year without the late Fayette Yates and his infectious giggle. Yates was a long-time breeder who seldom missed the WR Sale. However, Refuge Biologist Joe Kimball, his wife, Chip, and the courteous, efficient Refuge personnel and volunteers provided a wonderful afternoon, complete with the customary buffalo burgers served.
