Best at West Sale to be the Best Yet!

The Best at West Membership Sale is this weekend on Oct. 8, 2005, in West, TX. Quality Y.O. consignments will also be up for auction making this West sale the biggest and best ever!

Hudson Longhorns, Purvis, MS, is selling 24 head at the sale. Contact Ranch Manager Chris Schaper at 254-422-0188. Joe and Lorinda Valentine of Panther Creek Ranch have consigned 25 good bloodline cattle to the West sale. We want to send out a special THANK YOU to Hudson Longhorns and Panther Creek Ranch for their consignments.

Breeders may still bring their consignments on Friday, Oct. 7 from noon till 7 p.m. They will be included in the usual sale catalog produced overnight. A seller’s packet is on the TLBAA Web site. See membership sales at

The sale begins at 11 a.m. Brian Uptmore of West, TX will be the sale auctioneer, while Alan Sparger and TLBAA’s Larry Barker will provide the sale commentary.

Puppy Up for Auction at Oct. 8 West Sale

A 3/4 Blue Heeler and 1/4 Aussie puppy will be up for auction at the Best at West Sale on Oct. 8, 2005. All proceeds will go toward Operation First Response, which supports our service men and women.

The puppy donated by Kay Roush was born on Aug.19, 2005. Both parents are working cattle dogs. This pup was the "pick of the litter!”

“I bought a female from last year's litter and she's great at working the cattle with me,” said Roush. “The puppy up for auction is from the same litter and is in the process of being potty trained.”

Happy New Year with the Select Heifer Sale!

Start the New Year out with a bang by attending the Select Heifer Sale on Jan. 14, 2006.

The sale takes place during the exciting Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show at Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, TX.

B&C Fall Sale

Good times were had at the 28 th Annual B&C Show-Me Longhorn Sale in Brookfield, MO on Sept. 24, 2005.

The sale with registered Texas Longhorns, commercial Longhorns and 400 head of roping stock offered something to everyone.

Blue Ridge Breeders Sale

The Blue Ridge Breeders Sale on Sept. 17, 2005 in Mt. Airy, NC, was an exciting sale.

Paul Babington, Union Bridge, MD, served as sale chairman. Col. Eddie Wood, Wynnewood, OK, was the auctioneer, and Kaso Kety, Folsom, LA, provided the commentary.

The 79 head registered cattle averaged $1,693.

The sale’s volume buyers include:Mary Chastain, Moultrie, GA; Bruce Easterly, Denham Springs, LA; Ruben Whitworth, N. Wilkesboro, NC; Paul Sisk, Glen Saint Mary, FL; Grady Whitlock, Mount Hope, WV.

Bruce Easterly purchased the high-selling lot for $10,500 fromTyson Leonard, Mt. Airy, NC. Frosty is a 1992 daughter of Setting Bull 47/5 and Original Dandy 13/7. Rick Deal, Tallahassee, FL, bought LTL Twisted Gypsy for $4,200 from Tyson Leonard. LTL Twisted Gypsy is a 2003 daughter of Tango Twist and Gypsy. Tyson Leonard purchased Casa Blue Belle BW 352 for $4,000 fromShorty Robinson, Catlett, VA. Casa Blue Belle BW 352 is a 1993 daughter of Monarch’s Casanova FM711 and Graves Blue Belle FM 312. Mary Chastain, Moultrie, GA, bought Jackpot’s Royal Flush from Tyson Leonard for $4,000. Jackpot’s Royal Flush is a 2003 daughter of Red Clouds Jackpot and Deigo’s Roll of The Dice.


62 nd Annual Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Sale

It was perfect weather for the 62 nd Annual Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge (WMWR) Longhorn Sale at Cache, OK, on September 15.

There were 101 registered buyers attempting to purchase the 144 head of cattle with WR bloodlines.

The volume buyer was Schuyler Wright of Gardendale, TX, purchasing 23 animals for $10,260.

Twenty-seven mature cows averaged $774, while 46 heifer calves averaged $537. Seven yearling bulls averaged $485 with 63 bull calves averaging $507.

Dick Robbins, Belvidere, KS, and Julie McKinney, Marlow, OK, each paid $1,200 for the two high-selling mature cows. Jerry Hodge of Amarillo, TX, took home the high-selling bull calf for $1,100, while David Isbell of Valley View, TX, purchased the high selling heifer for $1,025.
