Eugene Webb IVBirth Announcement
Donnie and Marilynn Taylor received an early Christmas present last month with the birth of the grandson Charles Eugene Webb IV, born December 20, 2010. Young Charles measured 18 inches and weighed in at 5.6 lbs. Although he had an early arrival, as you can tell by the photo he is just perfect.
Charles’ grandpa a great TLBAA supporter, serving as Region 7 Director on the Board of Directors, and his mother Samantha Taylor-Webb is a past president of the TLBT. No question there will be Texas Longhorns in his future.
Congratulations Taylors and Webbs; it looks like 2011 is off to a great start for your families!

Tari Graves FM 49
was produced in 1992 by the great foundation breeder, F.M. “Blackie” Graves, and she has become an influential female in the Texas Longhorn breed. Sired by the straight Butler bull, Mr. Graves, and out of the great producing female, Texas Tari FM 610, Tari Graves is known throughout the industry as the dam of exceptional horn producing progeny. At the time of her death at age 18, she measured 81 inches of T2T Horn and 97 3/4 inches of Total Horn. Tari Graves was a top embryo donor and has been a huge influence on the El Coyote Ranch program. She also made her mark on other notable breeding programs throughout the industry. At El Coyote she has two great daughters, Tari’s Transition and Eternally Tari, both donors in their embryo transfer program as well as some promising young progeny by bulls such as Don Julio and Hunts Command Respect. While she will be missed her legacy will live on through her offspring, and as a testament to that legacy, El Coyote Ranch welcomed 2011 with the newest Tari Graves progeny a bull calf by JP Rio Grande.
sarasam
It is with a sad heart that I am writing to tell you of the passing of our dear cow Sarasam yesterday on Christmas Day. Sarasam was most dear to our hearts. My firm belief in Our Lord and Savior and the knowledge that He always has a plan and always knows what is best for his children is the only thing that has allowed me to smile and think of how beautiful she was when I would drive up in my Ranger, she would lift her regal head and gaze at me. Her presence will be greatly missed in our pastures but I thank God for putting her in our care for a while.

Lana Hightower, Van, TXThe entire 2010 Board of Directors received notification of the nomination results from R. J. Pickle, CPA. Each Nominee has been contacted by Chairman Steven Zunker and agreed to serve on the Board of Directors.
Darlene Aldridge was given the opportunity to choose between running for Region 10 Director or At Large Director; she informed Chairman Zunker that she would run for Region 10 Director.
Because there are three nominees for the Region 10 Director, active and lifetime members in Region 10 will be receiving an official ballot. The ballot will be mailed no later than November 30, 2010 and must be received by the CPA firm of R. J. Pickle by December 24, 2010 to be counted.
Because there are no opponents for Regions 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 or for At Large, these nominations stand as elected Directors for Division B and will be installed during the General Membership Meeting on January 14, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. Congratulations to those Directors.

4. The World Show Committee has the authority to suspend or remove any Judge from the approved Judges List until further notice for unethical conduct or a rule violation.
The TLBAA Board of Directors approved the Trails Cover Format policy during the October 16, 2010 Board of Directors Meeting. The policy will begin with the January 2011 cover.
POLICY ON Trails Cover Format Approved October 16, 2010
Need For Policy/Discussion
The cover makes the first and most important impression to the reader and is the most valuable page of the magazine. Because the 2009 Board of Directors requested that the Trails sell covers to increase revenue, it is imperative that a policy on cover format be set in order to keep the best image of the Trails intact.
Policy Proposal
- Photograph for the cover is vertical and is of the highest quality with a 300 dpi.
- Trails logo shall not be altered to accomodate a photo, unless it enhances the image of the magazine.
- Mailing label and bar code are two rectangular shapes beginning at the bottom left hand corner and continuing to the right side will not be moved to accomodate a photo due to mailing policies.
- The Trails will accept no more than 5 separate photos (one photo is preferred).
- No copy will be added to the cover to identify animals, events or other promotions unless it is a TLBAA official announcement.
- All copy regarding the photo(s) on the cover will be placed on the Table of Contents page under the heading “About the Cover”.
- At least a third of a page within the magazine will be available for the purchaser of the cover to continue with copy regarding the cover if space on “About the Cover” is lacking.
- The editor in chief and the art director of the Trails will have final approval of covers.
- By following these guidelines, the purchaser of the cover can be assured that the highest quality of production standards will be used to provide a professional result.
