Dear TLBT,
As we are coming upon our first Autobahn tour stop in Tyler we need to remember to thank Mr. and Mrs. John Chase for their generosity in providing this scholarship opportunity for us.
My mother and I have been halter breaking anything that moos and has horns in preparation for the first show. If you see me getting dragged around the ring, it might be because we overlooked that calf's halter breaking, yet still put it in the trailer. I am really excited to be a part of the first Autobahn tour stop.
It has been said, "Perfection and success are a combination lock that can be opened with the key of attitude, ability, hard work and a will to learn." I plan to teach my heifers perfection and success. It just must take a show or two to teach it to them though.

Autobahn Fund Increases to
$66,000!
Raffle of Volkswagen Beetle Adds to Pot!
Thanks to the Autobahn Motorcar Group and contributors John and
Diann Chase, the 2003-2004 Youth Scholarship Fund will increase
to $66,000 in the coming show year. Four thousand dollars in
scholarship funds will be awarded at each of the nine scheduled
tour stops (see page 57) and $30,000 total at the National Youth
Show in June, 2004. Since the creation of the Autobahn Motorcar
Group Youth Scholarship Fund, over $56,000 has been awarded in
scholarship monies. Already two groups of TLBT seniors have been
able to obtain a higher education, thanks to the Autobahn
Motorcar Group and the Chases.
The Texas Longhorn Breeders of Tomorrow and the
Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America are fortunate to
have such a tremendous program. No other breed association
offers such an incentive to their young people. Thank you to the
Autobahn Motorcar Group and John and Diann Chase for their
tremendous generosity in providing this opportunity for our
future Longhorn breeders and thus, ensuring the future of the
breed.
Bob Garner Wins Beetle
The
Volkswagen Beetle raffle gave a tremendous boost to the Autobahn
Motorcar Group Youth Scholarship Fund. The sparkling new yellow
Volkswagen Beetle Convertible was donated by the Autobahn
Motorcar Group with all proceeds going to the Youth Scholarship
Fund. Over $20,000 in tickets were sold by TLBT members.
In addition, the three top youth salesmen received additional
scholarship funds and added to their Hall of Fame points. The #1
salesman was Katie Dennis of Coupland, Texas, who worked hard
this spring and sold the most tickets. In fact, she sold the
winning ticket to Bob Garner of Hempstead, Texas. For her
efforts, Katie had $750 added to her scholarship fund. The
second place salesman was Stephanie Bradley, Stamford, TX who
earned $500, and third was Kathryn Head of Angleton, Texas, who
received $250.
