S&B BURGER JOINT WILL “PAY IT FORWARD” TO THE TEXAS LONGHORN BREEDERS OF AMERICA TO BENEFIT UPCOMING HORN SHOWCASE EVENT
LAWTON, Okla. — The Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America will be the featured organization at S&B Burger Joint’s Pay it Forward event at their Lawton location on Tuesday, September 29. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of their sales from the entire day to raise money for TLBAA’s Horn Showcase.
Horn Showcase is an annual event that will take place this year at Lawton’s Great Plains Coliseum on October 1-3. The event is expected to showcase some of the industry’s best registered Texas Longhorns to cattlemen, spectators, future breeders and fans from all walks of life.
During those three days, Longhorn cattle from across the U.S. will line the stalls of the coliseum. Activities and events will include a futurity, where the total Longhorn package is evaluated and rewarded; bred and owned heifer production sale; fashion show; and Heritage of Horns Gala. The gala will feature dinner, dancing and entertainment by Charlie Searle and the Ashtonz Band.
The Horn Showcase Steering Committee is bringing the event back to its deep roots. Lawton was home to the very first TLBAA meeting and is only 18 miles from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge where the historic WR Longhorn herd began.
“The 2015 Horn Showcase has something for everyone,” said Tony Mangold, Steering Committee Chair. “We look forward to having a whole new flock of fans of this majestic animal from the Lawton area and the great state of Oklahoma.”
Along with S&B Burger joint, TLBAA has received fundraising help for Horn Showcase from other gracious sponsors. The Apache Casino Hotel is this year’s host hotel. Other participating sponsors to date include — Apache Casino Hotel, Doug and Sandy Stotts-Hideaway Ranch, Cowboy Catchit Chex Partnership, Bar-H Ranch, CV Cowboy Casanova Partnership-McKnight/Filip/Gilliland, CR Ranches, LLC, Mangold/Ince Partnership, Schumacher Cattle Company, McIntyre Ranch, End of Trail Ranch, and Hudson Longhorns.
